When so many of us are returning to old ways of coming together, forming communities and finding ways to resist the endless desire to divide us, AI, trolls, ghost writers have found a new way to keep the wheels of hate turning and are blaming it in on young people.
They’re our hope, yet from some of what I read (which I often believe is written to sow seeds) , instead of coming together young people, (U18’s) are apparently finding new ways to express their anger at the world by aligning with what is now deemed as terrorist behaviour. In need of purpose, finding a cause to fight for seems meaningful and necessary, and I can understand that – I know what it’s like to feel purposeful, I’m blessed with a drive and commitment to humanity/others that fills every day with ambition and a goal that I know I can achieve and am determined to share with others. Without that I can imagine that one could feel a little lost and hopeless
You might say to yourself “Machines are going to take the jobs I could be studying for. They can make the idea I had faster and better. It’s smarter than me”.
Everywhere in the world governments and corporations are killing and disempowering people one way or another, if not through war, then through illness and disease, killing our souls by wearing away at the potential for joy, prosperity, love and freedom.
We want to serve one way or another – this I believe is at the core of human nature. This is how we know that we’re part of the bigger picture, the universe. It’s in this way that we come to know our part in the game of life – why we show up. And we’ll hold onto anything that makes us feel as though we are achieving this goal. Even if we are serving a questionable cause that could cause harm to others, if people suffer along the way, then so be it. I don’t believe this, I’m just imagining the feeling that goes with committing to a questionable cause that gives you a sense of purpose.
So how do we stop this disease called ‘Lack of purpose’ or ‘Lakovperpus’ – I made this up because I thought it sounded a bit more clinical, which should attract more attention from those industries that love to develop a prescribed drug for anything and everything.
It seems strong to call it a disease but this is what I feel it is. Whilst writing this post, I did what I always do, I took a moment to step away and reflect on my thoughts.
It’s not a new disease it’s been around forever however, we’ve supposedly made life so much easier, faster, cheaper and safer with all this amazing technology that cases of Lakovperpus are rising dramatically – this is a pandemic we should be talking about – this will kill people because it will kill our souls*.
Everything in nature has a function to perform, what is ours, I believe it doesn’t always have to be world changing it just has to serve a purpose. Just as we see in the wild, every little creature is part of a nurturing purposeful chain of events.
Like all other diseases, I imagine the way to treat it is to find the cause, find and understand where that really deep rooted place within us that needs attention, nurture it with empowerment, give it what it needs to thrive and heal, then through the healing a greater feeling of purpose and value will grow.
Now I’m no doctor but imagine how different people would be and how empowered they would feel if all our ailments, illnesses and areas of lack in our lives and in our bodies were dealt with this way – goodness it might just be wonderful.
*Purpose isn’t just work, it’s discovering that unique thing that lies deep within you, that only you have. It may be as simple as knowing the very best way of growing a specific crop that due to the unique and wonderful random nature of life, only you can do it or through that same randomness you happen to be in the right place at the right time to offer the words needed to change the course of someones life in a simple and beautiful way. You know something like that, that sort of purpose.
